 Acme Smoked Fish Corporation is currently seeking a full time Quality Assurance Specialist (Supervisor) to provide support to the Quality Assurance Department. ASF is one of the leading smoked seafood processors in the United States. The candidate will work under the direct supervision of the Quality Assurance Manager and Senior Quality Assurance Manager.


Job Responsibilities:

Assist in the continuing development, implementation and management of all aspects of the ASF food quality program. Includes, but not limited to, maintaining SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), SSOPs (Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures), documentation and product specification for all product lines. 

Assist the Quality Assurance Manager in the implementation of process evaluation and trend analysis in regards to food quality and food safety.

Responsible as support role for regulatory, customer and 3rd party audits.

Assist the company's GFSI continuous improvement plan for targets areas for improvement.

Assist and support, as necessary, sanitation related tasks including management and supervision of cleaning personnel, working with chemical suppliers, controlling chemical usage, and in general ensuring that the facility and equipment are safe from potential food safety hazards. 

Participating member of HACCP team, responsible for review of HACCP program documentation (data entry, document reviewing, filing, CCP monitoring records, procedure development, calibrations, etc.)

Assist the Quality Assurance Manager to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and food safety standards issued by FDA and other federal, state, and local agencies involved with food safety activities. Maintain up-to-date records for compliance with federal, state, HAACP regulations.

Assist the Quality Assurance Manager with ongoing employee training activities designed to keep employees knowledgeable and informed of SOPs, methods, and Good Manufacturing Procedures according to program needs.

Ensures that standards for personal hygiene are met and implements corrective actions where needed.

Works with plant supervisors to assure compliance with SOPs and GMPs.

Assist and support, as necessary, the environmental and product testing program including ongoing laboratory testing of environment, raw materials and finished goods.

Perform projects as required by the Quality Assurance Manager and the Sr. Quality Assurance Manager.

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor of Science in the Food Sciences. B.S. in Biology, Microbiology, and Chemistry also accepted.

Applicants with an associate degree and 2- 3 years related experience will be considered.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

Experience in Smoked fish

HACCP Certified

Seafood HACCP certified
